George Mlowoka Mbizi joined YONECO in 2009 and he has served as a Resource Centre Assistant and a Project Officer before being promoted to his current position of District Manager. George holds an ABMA Diploma in Rural and Community Development.

In this capacity, George is responsible for project planning, monitoring, budgeting, concept development, activity implementation, report writing and case study development, staff and stakeholder’s management, coordination, collaboration and networking. Furthermore, George is also involved in recruitment of volunteers and interns at district level.

George has been trained as HIV/AIDS Trainer, Life skills facilitator, in counseling skills, psycho-social support, human rights and child rights advocates, early childhood development, social accountability, governance, budget tracking, facilitator for children corner centre through Ministry of Gender, children disability and social welfare.

George is currently holding the position of secretary for Rumphi civil society organizations network and facilitated the first ever public expenditure tracking survey for constituency development fund (CDF).
Before joining YONECO George founded Care and Concern in Nkhata-Bay and worked as a youth worker and a field officer, he then joined Bible Society of Malawi where he worked as a District Coordinator for Nkhata Bay.
