YONECO’s Cultural Troupe and Tithandizane Helpline Services team has launched a two-day caravan in Phimbi and Mkaya villages, Balaka district, promoting transparency and accountability under the ECHO – Malawi Drought Response Project.

The activity commenced on April 15, 2025, and will continue through April 16, 2025. Its aim is to empower community members to demand their rights and report corruption without fear.

The team visited Phimbi Village, T/A Phimbi, GVH Phimbi, where a crowd gathered at a mini market. They also stopped in Mkaya Village, GVH Mkaya, T/A Mkaya, and Kadammanja Village, GVH Khwalala, T/A Mkaya, spreading their message far and wide.
During the caravan, community members were sensitized on Accountability for the Affected Population messages, emphasizing their rights as beneficiaries and the importance of not sharing their entitlements with anyone. The team took the opportunity to provide toll-free numbers for reporting grievances.
