Today, 21 August 2025, has marked the end of the final round of Teachers’ Refresher Trainings aimed at strengthening the delivery of the Building Education Foundations Through Innovation and Technology (#BEFIT) programme in primary schools in Rumphi district.

The primary focus of the training was to re-orient teachers on the goals, objectives, and expectations of the #BEFIT programme, which utilizes tablet-based learning to enhance foundational literacy and numeracy among young learners.
The trainings were held in the following five schools across the district: Betere, Chikwawa, Tenthere, Rumphi Catholic, and Kakoloha Primary Schools.

The #BEFIT is a government of Malawi owned and led programme aimed at enhancing foundational literacy and numeracy skills among learners in standard 1 to 4 across all public primary schools in Malawi through supplemental, individualized, self-paced instruction delivered via specialized apps on android tablets.
