YONECO facilitated the donation of a wheelchair to 6-year-old Dorothy Beyadi from Blantyre, who was born with mobility challenges.
Dorothy’s case was brought to light when her mother visited YONECO’s Blantyre District Office to seek assistance for her daughter, who has been unable to walk since birth.
Thus, YONECO took made some efforts to seek support for the child and eventually extended the request to the Gift of the Givers Foundation. The humanitarian organization responded positively and pledged to support Dorothy with a wheelchair.
This week, the pledge has been fulfilled. Officials from the Gift of the Givers Foundation delivered a brand-new wheelchair to Dorothy.
This donation comes just a month after the Foundation provided a similar wheelchair to another young girl who was also facing mobility challenges.
Speaking during the handover, Kingsley Kanjirawaya, Senior Health Officer at the Gift of the Givers Foundation, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to improving lives and expressed willingness to continue partnering with YONECO in addressing such needs.
