YONECO, in collaboration with the Chikwawa District Council, organized a learning visit for Savings and Loan Group (#SLG) members at Fodya Village in Traditional Authority (T/A) Ngabu’s area.

The visit brought together #SLG members from the area of (T/A) Katunga and T/A Ngabu to exchange ideas and experiences on strengthening group businesses under the SP-GEAR project. The interaction aimed to inspire innovation and help members work towards achieving their financial aspirations.

During the visit, participants observed that #SLGs in Ngabu are successfully investing in livestock ventures as a way of generating income and improving household livelihoods. Members from Katunga expressed appreciation for the opportunity, noting that they had learned valuable lessons which they intend to replicate in their own groups to enhance business performance and financial independence.

Both groups commended #YONECO and the Chikwawa District Council officials for organizing the visit, describing it as an important step in promoting collaboration and shared learning.

With funding from the European Union in Malawi and Irish Aid through UNICEF Malawi, #YONECO continues to provide ongoing technical and operational support to the #SLGs to strengthen their sustainability and impact.
