YONECO conducted a drug and substance abuse awareness session at STAR Private Secondary School in Blantyre on 26 November 2025.
The session featured interactive discussions, real-life testimonials, and presentations on the dangers of substances such as alcohol, cannabis, and synthetic drugs. Students explored peer and societal pressures, learned resilience strategies, and engaged in role-playing exercises promoting healthy alternatives like sports and creative hobbies.
During the sessions, YONECO, the school authorities and students worked on strategies for addressing gender-specific risks and connecting students to counseling services.
The students pledged to serve as ambassadors against drug abuse in their school and communities
