YONECO conducted a three-day Theatre for Development (#TfD) training for youth clubs aimed at empowering young people with practical skills to use participatory theatre in raising awareness on accountability and the rights of affected populations in Nsanje.

The training was conducted under the FCDO-funded Climate Adaptation and Resilience project which is being implemented by the Humanitarian NGO Consortium in Malawi.

A total of 40 young people (20 males and 20 females) were selected from the areas of Traditional Authority (T/A) of Ndamera, Ngabu, Malemia and Mbenje in the district.

The sessions focused on various key components of Accountability to Affected Populations (#AAP), including community participation, safeguarding, Protection from Exploitation and Abuse (#PSEA), Feedback and Complaints Mechanisms (#CFMs), as well as transparency in humanitarian interventions, among others.
