On 30 December 2025, the Presidential Advisor on NGOs, Luther Mambala, visited the YONECO Head Office to strengthen civic space and enhance collaboration between the government and civil society in Zomba.
The Presidential Advisor, who was accompanied by the Chief Executive Officer of the NGO Regulatory Authority (NGORA), Dr. Felix Lombe, engaged YONECO and the leadership of Zomba Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) on key issues affecting the NGO sector, including accountability, regulation, and the role of civil society in national development.
In his remarks, Mambala commended YONECO for its contributions to youth empowerment, child protection, gender equality, and health interventions.
YONECO briefed the delegation on its programmes and challenges, highlighting the organization’s work in SRHR, GBV prevention, child protection, YONECO FM radio station programming, and the operations of the Tithandizane Helpline Services.
