On 22 January 2025, YONECO engaged motorcycle riders and other men at Rumphi Market in a health awareness session aimed at promoting male involvement in health issues.
Officers challenged common myths that discourage men from seeking care and encouraged early medical attention, stressing that regular check-ups support early diagnosis and a healthier life.
The session also emphasized men’s role in supporting their partners by accompanying them to antenatal care, family planning, HIV testing, and STI screening services. Participants shared challenges they face in accessing services at Rumphi District Hospital, which YONECO will raise through advocacy efforts.
In support of safer practices, YONECO distributed 144 male condoms and 30 water-based lubricants, reaching 30 men.
