Over 600 students at Rumphi Secondary School benefited from a School-Related Gender-Based Violence (SRGBV) awareness session that was held on 12 March 2026.

The students were urged to respect one another and to report any form of harassment, bullying, or abuse occurring within or around the school environment.

The facilitators also publicised toll-free lines and reporting channels, encouraging students to report cases of abuse to relevant authorities, including the police, social welfare, school authorities, and the available community protection structures.

The session was organised by YONECO in collaboration with Rumphi District Hospital, Rumphi Police Station, and the District Social Welfare Office to help strengthen awareness and referral pathways for cases of abuse among learners.
