YONECO on 18 April 2026 conducted a participatory human rights awareness session for boys and girls from communities surrounding its Youth Drop-In Centre (DIC) in Machinjiri, Blantyre.

The session aimed to strengthen children’s understanding of their rights and responsibilities through interactive discussions and active participation.

During the engagement, the children identified key rights including the right to education, protection from abuse, and access to health services. They also learned about the importance of respecting the rights of others and understanding the responsibilities that come with those rights.

The Machinjiri Youth DIC continues to attract increasing numbers of young people, particularly during school holidays thereby providing a platform for promoting child rights awareness and positive youth development.
