YONECO participated in the Africa Regional Convening on Organisational Resilience and Coalition Building, held in Nairobi, Kenya, from 14th to 17th April 2026.

The convening, organised by UN Women and the UN Trust Fund under the Advocacy, Coalition Building and Transformative Feminist Action (ACT) Programme, brought together partners from across the continent to reflect on progress, share experiences, and strengthen collaboration.

The workshop addressed two key thematic areas: the results and sustainability of the ACT Programme. This offered a platform for partners to assess what had been achieved, share lessons learned, and discuss how to sustain impact. Organisational resilience and coalition building were the focus of the remaining sessions, during which participants gained the necessary knowledge and tools to enhance their efforts in both areas.

One of the most interesting sessions for YONECO during the convening was the opportunity to learn from peers from other countries. During discussions, participants shared best practices and approaches to address common issues.

YONECO’s participation in the convening demonstrates its willingness to learn, collaborate, and improve organisational efficiency in order to implement transformative programmes.

YONECO is currently implementing a research project on peer-moderated GBV safe space intervention at the University of Malawi, funded by UN Women and the European Union under the ACT Programme through the Sexual Violence Research Initiative.
