On 21 May 2026, YONECO, in collaboration with the Malawi Police Service and the District Social Welfare Office, has conducted an awareness campaign on the dangers of mob justice at Chilichawo Private Secondary School in Nsanje.

The campaign, which reached 120 students, was organized in response to recent mob attacks linked to false allegations of witchcraft and manhood removal in the district.

Police officers urged learners not to take the law into their own hands, emphasizing that criminal matters should be handled through legal channels.

Nsanje District Social Welfare officials also encouraged students, especially girls, to stay focused on education and avoid risky behaviours such as drug abuse, alcohol consumption, and involvement in violence.
