Community members from the area of Traditional Authority (T/A) Mposa, Machinga, have commended the positive impact of the Making Communities Resilient to Climate Change-Induced Health Challenges Project during a review meeting held on 9 and 10 June in the area.
The meeting brought together 30 community members representing the youth, Area Disaster Risk Management Committee (ADRMC) members, Community-Based Organisations (CBOs), Community-Based Educators (CBEs), Community Change Agents, Health Surveillance Assistants (HSAs), Area Development Committee (ADC) members, and Savings and Loan Groups (SLG) to assess progress made over the past six months.
The community members explained that the project has strengthened community resilience by improving household incomes, enhancing food security, promoting environmental conservation, and reducing the vulnerability of communities to the effects of climate change and climate-related health challenges.
