Our team conducted a governance and human rights awareness session at Nambazo in the area of Traditional Authority (T/A) Kadewere in Chiradzulu district. The sessions aimed to empower community members to actively participate in local development processes.

During the meeting, community members were encouraged to utilise established structures, such as Village Development Committees (VDCs) and Area Development Committees (ADCs), to voice their development priorities and actively engage duty bearers.

In his remarks, Village Head Nambazo urged his subjects to demand quality services from duty bearers and further encouraged YONECO to continue conducting similar awareness activities in the area.

The team also promoted the Tithandizane toll-free lines: 116 (Child Helpline), 393 (Youth Helpline) and 5600 (GBV Crisis Line). These provide reliable and confidential mechanisms for accessing information and reporting cases of violence and abuse.
