YONECO organized a clean-up exercise at Chitipa Hospital Guardian Shelter to address the poor sanitary conditions that had rendered the site unconducive for occupants and posed potential health risks.
The exercise was supported by 23 women guardians who actively participated in cleaning and improving the surrounding environment.
“The exercise has created a safer and healthier space for us, guardians, who stay at this shelter,” explained Hilda Mwakapenda, one of the participants.
Chitipa District Council supported the initiative by providing personal protective equipment (PPE) to all participants, ensuring that the clean-up was conducted safely.
