Hughes Munthali
DISTRICT MANAGER (YONECO-MCHINJI)

Hughes Tawanda Munthali is a holder of a University Certificate in Counselling from St John of God College of Health Sciences. Currently he is the District Manager for YONECO-Mchinji. His expertise and experience is chronicled from 2007 to the present which includes Psychosocial Counselling; Child Protection; Case Management; Project Management as well as Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights for young people. He undergone a number of capacity building initiatives, among these include the Feminist Counselling for GBV survivors from GBV Prevention Network in Uganda and Comprehensive Sexuality Education Trainer of Trainers course from UNFPA East and Southern Africa Regional Office in Swaziland. Over the years, he has been involved in the consultancy for the Malawi Youth Situation Analysis 2014 under Maestral International; the Roll-Out of the National Child Helpline Services in Malawi; the development of the revised Youth Friendly Health Service Manual 2015 edition; Malawi Case Management Strategic Plan under the Ministry of Gender and the Multi-Disciplinary Sexual Gender Based Violence team for Zomba District. In addition to this, he has been a co-researcher for the Parents and Guardians for Child Abuse Survivors Study that was conducted by YONECO. At the moment, he is pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration from Amity University.
