George Mbizi Mlowoka
George Mbizi Mlowoka Holds Diploma in Rural and community development obtained at Mzuzu Technical College, currently is working as Project Officer for Child Labour Elimination Action for Real Change (CLEAR) Project based in Rumphi District in the northern part of Malawi. He joined YONECO in 2009 as an Office/Resource center Assistant, among his works assigned to him was also facilitating life skills and counseling sessions to the children and youth at the Resource centre and youth clubs. His dedication commitment in working with children and young people saw him being promoted as a Project Officer for Youth in Action Project which was implemented in partnership with Save the Children, CRECCOM and Total Land care from 2012 to 2016 (4 years). George gained a lot of skills and knowledge in project planning, monitoring, budgeting, concept development, implementation, report writing and case study development which earned him the current position. His main job is implementing project activities on the ground among others facilitating withdrawal of children from child Labour and protecting children from different form of abuse and providing leadership guidance to the youth leaders while equipping them with life skills information. Initially has been trained as HIV/AIDS Trainer, Life skills facilitator, in counseling skills and psychosocial support, Human rights and child rights advocates and in early childhood development and recently he has been trained in social accountability and governance through Action Aid Malawi and NICE trust. George is currently holding the position of secretary for Rumphi civil society organizations network and facilitated the first ever public expenditure tracking survey for constituency development fund (CDF) among others George has been trained as a facilitator in child corner through ministry of Gender children and social welfare. Before joining YONECO George founded Care and Concern in Nkhata-Bay and worked as a youth worker and a field officer, he then joined Bible Society of Malawi where he worked as a District Coordinator for Nkhata Bay.
