Malawi is currently participating in a four-day International Learning Event on the Link Between Child Marriage and Adolescent Girls’ Sexuality dubbed Making the Most of What We Know (MMWWK) which commenced on 1 March and will be end on 4 March 2021.

Apart from Malawi, other participating countries are Bangladesh, Mali, Uganda, Niger, Nepal, Pakistan and Ethiopia. A group of delegates from each of the participating country has joined the conference through a designated virtual channel.  Participants from Malawi have congregated at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe City.

The event has been organized by the More Than Brides Alliance (MTBA) with funding from the Dutch government. At national level, YONECO – a member of MTBA, is coordinating the event in Malawi.

Participants from Malawi have been drawn from some key institutions that are actively tang part in the fight against child marriages in the country. The institutions which are present in the conference are @GENET, @CYECE @CEYCA @CHRR @FPAM @MalawiSRHRAlliance @COWHLA @NGO-GCN @MHRRC @CHRR as well as officials from the Ministry of Gender, Community Development and Social Welfare.
