YONECO has joined its partners and citizens of Malawi in commemorating the Day Africa of the African Child (DoAC). The commemoration event is being held at Traditional Authority (T/A) Kasisisi at Njereza Primary School.
This year’s commemoration is being held under the theme; Humanitarian Action in Africa; Children’s Rights First. The commemoration event has also doubled as a launch of National Children’s Policy.
The Guest of Honour to the function is the newly appointed Minister of Gender Children, Disability and Social Welfare (MoGCDSW), Honourable Mary Navicha.
The function has also been graced by the presence of the Executive Director for YONECO, MacBain Mkandawire, the Principle Secretary for MoCDSW, Erica Magaga as well as heads of various government departments, NGOs and community members including children.
The function is being covered live on YONECO FM Radio Station and presentation and reporting of events is being done by child presenter.
