On 23 July, 2021, our office in Mulanje district received a donation of children’s clothes, shoes and books from Footprints ya Amama Organization.
The materials have been donated to support implementation of Play and Learn sessions which YONECO conducts for Children around Chitakale area.
The donation has come at a time when it was noted most children who attend the sessions at YONECO’s Child Drop-In-Centre do not have shoes and they wear torn clothes. Thus, the donation has been made after an engagement meeting which our team had with the founder of Footprints ya Amama Organization.
The donation will further incentivize vulnerable children thereby increasing enrollment and ensure that the children are regularly attending the sessions. Further to this, the materials will help in creating a conducive environment for the children because all the participants will be well-dressed thereby encouraging equal and active participation as well.
