On 30 September, 2021, Nkhata Bay district held a commemoration event of the Day of the African Child at Mpamba Ground in the area of Traditional Authority (T/A) Timbiri.
Among other activities, children from many parts of the district showcased their various skills in drama, poetry and music.
YONECO also participated in the event and our Programme Support Manager for the Northern Zone – Dunreck Pande, attended the function in a blue uniform shirt and a grey short. Dunreck freely interacted with many leaners who were also in blue uniform shirts.
Various stakeholders carried placards which had messages that encouraged leaners in the district to remain in school.
The Guest of Honour to the function was the Ward Counsellor for Chikwina Ward – Malani Kafunda who commended YONECO for its empahsis on sustainability of interventions which the instition implements in the district.
