YONECO, Standing Voices and Beyond Suncare has trained a total of 50 community advocates in Machinga district. The trained community cadres have been drilled to protect and advance the rights of people with albinism in their designated areas.
Malawi is among the countries where, heartrendingly, people with albinism face various forms of violence and abuse due to some prevalent harmful sociocultural beliefs.
Thus, #YONECO, Standing Voice, and Beyond Suncare formed a consortium which is implementing Ufulu Wanga Project with support from the European Union in Malawi. The project is aimed at enhancing the rights and welfare of people with Albinism.
