On 9 December 2024, YONECO’s through the Tithandizane Helpline Services held a Gender Based Violence (GBV) engagement session with 22 women from Matama Village in the area of Traditional Authority (T/A) Mwambo, Zomba.

The session was aimed at engaging women to voice out on GV-related challenges that affect them in a bid to strategize ways of addressing the issues. In addition, women were also engaged to properly recognize and report various forms of GBV that occur at household and community levels.

Tithandizane Helpline officers further encouraged the women to form Savings and Loans Groups (SLGs) which have proved to be one of the effective ways of empowering women economically.
