In a continued effort to promote economic empowerment among women, YONECO conducted a business development session targeting small-scale women entrepreneurs at Dyeratu Market in Chikwawa District.
The engagement that was held on 18 July 2025, focused on equipping the women with practical skills and knowledge in business planning, record keeping, and profit tracking which are key components for growing sustainable businesses.
According to participants, the session was both timely and impactful.
Many of the women shared how their small-scale businesses are making a real difference in their households, including covering tuition fees for children in secondary schools and various colleges.
“This session is an eye-opener. I will use the knowledge to boost my business to earn more income,” said one of the businesswomen, who runs a thriving stall selling samosas, fritters, and ring doughnuts.
