Youth Net and counseling (YONECO) in partnership with Girls Empowerment Network Malawi (GENET) with support from Hivos have organized a two-day Southern Region Symposium on Child Marriages that will be held at Sun n’ Sand Holiday Resort in Mangochi from the 21st up until the 22nd January 2014.
The symposium follows the recommendation of a National Child Marriage Symposium that was held in August, 2013. The regional symposium aims at creating a platform where partners will share experiences and come up with strategies and actions to end child marriages In Malawi.
The symposium will bring together representatives from a number of government ministries, representatives from a number of CSOs, the clergy and several individuals from the academia.
