YONECO IN DISASTER RELIEF DISTRIBUTION
On 11 June 2022, YONECO distributed relief items to survivors of Tropical Storm Ana and Tropical Cyclone Gombe in the area of Traditional Authority (T/A) Ndamela in Nsanje district.
The exercise was presided over by officials from the Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA), District Social Welfare and Officers from YONECO who distributed both food and Non-food relief items to the affected populations.
The Items that were distributed include; water buckets, maize flour, beans, cooking oil, mosquito nets and energy efficient cooking stoves locally known as Chitetezo Mbaula.
“I am happy that I am among the recipients of these items. I lost all I had during the two devastating storms, God bless YONECO,” said Liness Samson one of the beneficiaries.
YONECO managed to procure and distribute the relief items with support from Vitol Foundation.
