General Purpose:
The Sales and Marketing Agent is responsible for looking for and contacting potential clients, explain the benefits and costs for advertising with their respective stations, help with the creation of client base for YONECO FM and other product and services offered by YONECO; negotiate contracts, and process paperwork in support of the Communication and Marketing Officer. At all times to be target driven, customer service orientated, be an independent worker, be organized, be a problem solver and have attention to detail.
Supervision: The Sales and Marketing Agent will directly be supervised by Communication and Marketing Officer
Essential Duties:
- Solicits sponsorships from clients to raise funds for operation of radio station and program.
- Places phone calls and/or electronic communication with such sponsorships
- Attends client meetings
- Creates sponsorship proposals and create and executes agreements between radio station operations and such sponsors.
- May perform research and prepare materials for use in sales and marketing
- Devise sales plans and call schedules for customers
- Negotiating trading terms in liaison with the Communication and Marketing Officer and the Station Manager
- Manage relationships with customers
- Acquire new customers
- Prepare sales reports
- Work with the Communication and Marketing Officer to develop and implement a monthly sales plan with the purposes of achieving the monthly revenue target
- Attend regular one-on-one meetings with the Communication and Marketing Officer and Business Development, Partnerships and Resource Mobilization Manager
- Develop and build relationships with clients by providing top quality customer service
- Develop new leads by cold calling and obtaining face to face appointments;
- Maintain an organized format on each sales call, covering all important topics: client marketing analysis, target consumer needs, benefits sought, assignments and follow-up;
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Sales, Marketing and business-related fields
- Experience on business, marketing, advertising and communications
- Proven sales experience
- The ability to travel to customers
- The ability to work independently
- Strong negotiation and consultative sales skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Online Marketing sales experience preferred
Condition:
- Commission-based sales position, there will be no base pay, compensation is made up of variable competitive sales commissions rate.
