Today, YONECO joined a Stakeholders Review Meeting alongside representatives from the Malawi government UNICEF Malawi to assess the progress achieved in the Social Protection for Gender Equality and Resilience (SP-GEAR) Project in Chikwawa district.
Among others, it has been noted that with collaboration from YONECO, the district has been able to identify and device ways of dealing with challenges the project has met so far in its implementation for the past four months.
In this project, YONECO is responsible for managing the social protection component for beneficiaries of the Social Cash Transfer Programme (#SCTP).
With funding from UNICEF, the project is being implemented in three districts of Nsanje, Chikwawa and Mulanje.
Meanwhile, the team is in Zaonanji Village, Chikwawa East Bank to engage with the community involved in the SP-GEAR project.
