On 22 November 2024, YONECO Head Office in Zomba hosted 27 form four students from St. Michael’s Girls Secondary School on a learning visit.

The tour was marked by a tour of YONECO Head Office, which involved stops at YFM Radio Station, YONECO ICT Centre, and the Tithandizane Helpline Services Centre. Each department presented some glimpses into the unique functions and contributions to the overall organization’s mission and vision.

The Executive Director of YONECO, MacBain Mkandawire, addressed several questions that were posed by the students. The questions were on critical topics such as social protection, Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and human rights issues.
One of the teachers who accompanied the students, Peter Chatepa, explained that the visit provided the students with invaluable insights into various issues that have a bearing on their rights and welfare.

“The visit has been beneficial, and I am glad that it has also exposed the students to potential career paths,” explained Chatepa.
