1. Introduction
The More than Brides Alliance (MTBA) recently received a Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Partnership Fund from the Dutch Government to implement a five-year programme (2016-2020) on Child Marriage in 5 countries. In Malawi, the Alliance consists of three members: Simavi (lead organisation), Save the Children International Malawi, and Population Council. The objective of the MTBA’s programme “Marriage No Child’s Play” is: young people are able to decide if and when to marry and pursue their sexual and reproductive rights in a supportive environment. Coordination in Malawi will be conducted by a Country Management Unit (CMU), composed of a Country Alliance Coordinator (secretariat), the CEOs of the Malawi based partners and a PME advisor. The CAC will be contracted by the local lead partner of Simavi. Simavi will work with local partners (YONECO and GENET), who will implement the programme; Save the Children International Malawi will provide technical assistance to local partners and supervisory support. Population Council will be coordinating the overarching research and learning agenda

2. Purpose of the position
To coordinate the activities of the Alliance at country level and to report on the implementation of the Marriage No Child’s Play programme of the MTBA in Malawi.

3. Contract Period
Initially for one year, with a possibility of extension.

5. Reporting lines:
• The Country Alliance Coordinator reports to the Simavi Country Lead, but for daily reporting and communication, CAC will report to the Management Team / CEO of YONECO.
• The Country Alliance Coordinator also reports to the responsible member of the MTBA Programme Committee in The Netherlands and to the HQ Alliance Coordinator in all matters regarding the Alliance in the country.

6. Profile, key qualifications
The position require a graduate degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Public Health, Sociology, Anthropology, Development Studies, International Development etc.), minimum of 5 years experience as coordinator in multi sectoral programming and coordination and work experience in an international (development) organisation. Other requisites are experience with Child Protection or SRHR/ YFHS or multi-sectoral child rights programming, experience in working with youth, preferable in child protection, youth empowerment and/ or youth SRHR programming and experience in advocacy at national level, preferably in preventing early marriage. The candidate must underscore the values and principles on Adolescent SRHR and child rights; have experience and affinity with Programme Monitoring and Evaluation and programme research and able to operate within a conceptual flexible environment at strategic level. The candidate must have strong analytic, organisation, and planning skills; excellent interpersonal communication skills able to motivate and inspire people with a coaching leadership style and result oriented in combination with financial insight. The person must have the ability to work under tight deadlines, manage multiple tasks simultaneously; fluent in spoken and written English Computer literate and willingness to travel frequently.
