The Executive Director for YONECO, MacBain Mkandawire, has urged personnel who will monitor the electoral processes in the forthcoming 2019 Tripartite Elections to be impartial in discharging their duties.

Mkandawire made these remarks when he was opening a two-day training workshop on Violence against Women in Elections and Bio-Metric Voter Registration Exercise that was conducted in Zomba.

Mkandawire who is also the Publicity Secretary for Malawi Electoral Support Network (MESN) stated that objectivity of the monitors is very key in ensuring peaceful elections in 2019.

“It is very important for you to be very objective despite your personal political opinions or affiliation”, said Mkandawire.

The training was organized by the Malawi Electoral Support Network (MESN) to quip the Monitors on violence against women in elections ahead of the phase 6 of voter registration scheduled for 19 September to 2 October, 2018 in Zomba, Nsanje and Mangochi districts.
