YONECO engaged various Area Development Committees (ADCs) in the process of selecting beneficiaries of a student bursary fund which is being financed through Ana Patsogolo (APA) Project in Zomba districts.

The beneficiaries were initially identified by traditional leaders, child protection committees and school authorities. Thus, members of various ADCs were engaged to vet the names in order to ensure accountability and sustainability of the intervention.

The engagement meetings were conducted in the areas of Traditional Authority (T/A) Mwambo, Mkagula, Malemia, Chikowi and Mlumbe. A total of 1, 844 needy students from the aforementioned T/As will benefit from the intervention.

YONECO is implementing APA project in Zomba and Blantyre districts. The project is funded by USAID in order to promote prevention of new HIV infections, reduce vulnerably among Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) as well as Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW).
