Youth Net and Counselling (YONECO) is a local NGO that is committed to empowering youth, women and children, preventing the spread of HIV infection, mitigating the impact of AIDS, promoting democracy and human rights and conducting research on youth, women and children development. YONECO vision is a self-reliant, healthy and resilient society that respects democratic values and principles. YONECO works with both local and international NGOs and donors, government departments and Community Based Organizations. YONECO has programmes and projects in Zomba, Mchinji, Ntchisi, Mulanje, Thyolo, Phalombe, Chiradzulu, Mangochi, Machinga, Balaka, Ntcheu, Nkhata Bay, Lilongwe, Chikhwawa and Rumphi. YONECO also has national programmes like the first ever child helpline in Malawi for the protection and promotion of child rights.   1. District Coordinator

The District Coordinator will be responsible for the overall coordination of the activities at district levels. The district coordinator is responsible for the coordination, planning, implementation and reporting of the project, staff management and supervision and following up the referral cases for the project activities.

Qualifications and attributes

  • Minimum of a degree in Nursing, Health Development Studies, Social Work or Community Development
  • Good written and oral communication skills preferably in English
  • Good interpersonal skills and self-management skills
  • Ready to work odd hours.
  1. Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant (3)

The Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant (RMEA) supports the Research, Monitoring, and Evaluation Officer (RMEO) in coordinating all research, monitoring, evaluation, learning and documentation related activities of all programmes in the organization. The RMEA is also responsible for supporting overall monthly, quarterly and annual report production and dissemination of programme activities. The major areas to be managed are: monitoring and evaluation, research, documentation, quarterly and annual reports and data management. RMEA shall be responsible for supporting the RMEO in the timely consolidation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports in YONECO. The RMEA reports to the RMEO who directly reports to the office of the Research, Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning & Documentation Manager (RMELDM) on daily basis and as need arises.

Qualifications & attributes:

  • Minimum of a Degree in Statistics, Demography, Development Studies, Social Work or Statistics with 2-3 years’ experience in research, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Good analytical skills & practical knowledge of data analysis packages
  • Good written and oral communication skills preferably in English
  • Good interpersonal skills and self-management skills
  • Ready to work odd hours.
