A delegation from the US State Department Office held discussions with YONECO in order to accelerate efforts towards combating Trafficking in Persons (TiP).The delegation that was led by Haley Wright held the talks with YONECO staff on 29th January 2019. The two sides discussed how YONECO has contributed towards
supporting survivors of TIP as well as awareness raising efforts about the existence and dangers of the malpractice.
Malawi is a source, transit as well as destination of people who are subjected to this gross human rights violation. As such, internal efforts to respond and curb TIP are very critical and beneficial to many people within and outside the country.
