YONECO is proud to announce that it has been granted membership to the Alliance of NGOs for Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice.

The Association was established to promote cooperation between its members and the United Nations, in particular the relevant offices, programmes and agencies involved in crime prevention and criminal justice. Furthermore, the Association also enhances collaboration between its members and other relevant offices of the United Nations, including those related to human rights, children, women, terrorism, refugees, migration, peace-keeping and development issues.

The Alliance brings together a broad network of civil society organizations contributing to the achievement of security and justice for all. It ensures that civil society organizations are recognized and heard in advancing the crime prevention and criminal justice agenda and in designing, implementing and measuring results of relevant policies everywhere.

The Alliance encourages its members in playing a key role towards the achievement of the SDGs, and in particular Goal 16 to “Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.”

The membership in the Alliance grants YONECO an opportunity to access up-to-date critical information, effective strategies and approaches in crime prevention thereby contributing towards the promotion of the rights of women, children and the youth.
