Yesterday, YONECO in collaboration with Chimbota Community Development Organization conducted an evening screening of Mbeu Yosintha (Seeds of Change) Film at Bwerero Ground in the area of Sub-Traditional Authority (STA) Mndola in Nkhata Bay district.

 
The screening was followed by a dialogue session whereby community members discussed a number of issues in relation to the film’s sub-themes which evolve around Gender Based Violence (GBV), girl child education, youth unemployment, environmental conservation.
 
In her remarks, Village Head Katema urged all her subjects to desist from GBV which she described as one of the vices that negatively impact on socio-economic development in her area. Community members members discussed various issues that negatively impact on their welfare and community cohesion.
 
The function was attended by a total of 110 community members invaliding religious and traditional leaders.
 
Today, YONECO and Chimbota Community Development Organization will have another screening which is expected to be attended by the District Youth Officer (DYO)O, District Information Officer (DIO), Education Director and District Agricultural Development Officer among other officials. The screening is expected to stimulate on various key issues that are affecting the rights and welfare of people in the district.
