Today, Malawi has joined the rest of the world in commemorating the International Day of the Girl Child (IDGC) The Guest of Honour to this function which is being held at Lozi Primary School in Nkhotakota district is the Minister of Gender, Community Development and Social Welfare – honourable Dr. Patricia Kaliati.
Hon. Kaliati was welcomed to a YONECO stand by two adolescent girls who are among many young people who have benefited from YONECO’s interventions in ending Online Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (OCSEA). YONECO has been implementing these activities with support from Trocaire and Human Dignity Foundation.
The function has also been graced by the presence of the Executive Director of YONECO- MacBain Mkandawire, various government officials and representatives from both local and international NGOs.

The theme for this year’s IDGC is Digital Generation: Our Generation.
