Malawi Alcohol Policy 2017 (3.1.3 – 1 provides for the establishment of Local Committees on Drug Control (LCDC) that are mandated to spearhead community action against drug and substance abuse, including alcohol, in partnership with local stakeholders.
YONECO, with financial support from FORUT through NCA/DCA, supported the activation of various LCDC in Mangochi district.
The function was presided over by Senior Chief Chowe, who is also a Board Member of YONECO. In his remarks, the Senior Chief reaffirmed YONECO’s commitment to protecting the youth in order for them to successfully transition into adulthood.
