Today, 16 June is the Day of the African Child. This is an annual commemoration that raises awareness of the continuing need for improvement of the education provided to African children. On this Day, let us also extend our scope and advocate for lasting solutions to various barriers which African children continue to face. This year, the Day is being commemorated under the theme “Eliminating Harmful Practices Affecting Children: Progress on Policy & Practice since 2013”.
