In commemorating the World Youth Skills Day which falls on 15 July every year, our District Manager for Machinga, Jacob Phiri, had a number of engagement meetings with young people around Ntaja area in the district.

The session was held to raise awareness about the importance of skilled young people in addressing various perennial socio-economic challenges which the country faces. In his address, Phiri reminded the young people that apart from earning an income to meet their daily needs, skilled young people also contribute positively towards sustainable economic growth and development of the society.

During the meeting, many young people indicated that they lack motivation to nurture the various skills they have and thanked YONECO for engaging them.

A total of 25 young boys and girls attended the session that was held yesterday, 15 July, 2022.
