On 25 July, 2022, female listeners of YONECO FM’s Amayi Yankhulani (women speak out) Radio Programme had an engagement meeting at Liwonde Township in Machinga district.
The meeting was aimed at strengthening the participation of women and how to amply their voice through the radio programme. Further to this, the women used the opportunity to elect new office bearers of a special committee that was established in 2017. The committee comprises female listeners of Amayi Yankhulani Radio programme from all districts across Malawi.
Amayi Yankhulani Radio Programme is a platform that was established to contribute towards socio-economic development pf women. The radio programme empower and connect women from various backgrounds and enable them to share knowledge, skills and experiences as they help one another in dealing with various vices that negatively impact on the welfare of women.
