In a bid to develop a sense of environmental stewardship among young people, YONECO in collaboration with teachers at Chivukutu Primary School in Mzimba district organized a tree planting day on which the leaners managed to plant 550 seedlings around the school.
YONECO has planned to collaboratively with various school authorities in order to ensure that young people should be at the centre of creating more green spaces and habitats for wildlife and learn more about their environment.
As YONECO, we believe that tree planting is a powerful way of making a difference and youth engagement is key in ensuring that environmental conservation activities have a lasting impact.
