Economic empowerment of young people is very critical as it enables the youth to access resources and opportunities they need to create a better future for themselves, their families and their communities. Such efforts also contribute towards poverty reduction and reduces the inequality gap.
On April 12th, 2023, YONECO held a socioeconomic session with the youth in Ntcheu district. This session was conducted to offer support and encouragement to young people who are striving to make ends meet.
The session was attended by 12 young people who operate various small scale businesses. The participants shared their experiences, discussed the difficulties they face, and shared their strategies for ensuring their businesses remain successful.
The youths were hailed for their hard work and they were encouraged to keep striving. They also advised the youths to keep investing their money in their businesses.
YONECO believes that youth empowerment helps in the creation of a more inclusive and sustainable economy thereby reducing disparities in access to various services and other necessities.
