With support from UN Women, YONECO has equipped members of various community protection structures with knowledge and skills in conflict analysis and resolution, effective communication, decision-making, leadership, and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) prevention in Phalombe district.

The training session primarily focused on key thematic areas to enhance the capacity of the targeted structures to manage community-level cases and resolve conflicts in a more coordinated and inclusive manner.

The two two-day training session brought together representatives of Community Victim Support Units (CVSUs), Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), Village Civil Protection Committees (VCPCs), Mother Groups, and youth representatives from the areas of Traditional Authority (T/A) Kaduya and Mkhumba in the district.

The training was conducted under the Sustaining Community Women Movement in Peacebuilding and Humanitarian Response project, which is supported by Women Peace and Humanitarian Fund through UN Women. The project seeks to strengthen women’s participation in peacebuilding and humanitarian response by empowering grassroots structures with the necessary tools and knowledge to foster peaceful and resilient communities.
