Today, TROCAIRE led the landmark launch of interventions that are aimed at Building Climate-Resilient Communities Around Wildlife Protected Areas in Malawi.

The project which is being funded by the European Union will be implemented by a consortium of five partners namely; Trocaire (lead partner), YONECO, Churches Action in Relief and Development (CARD), Civil Society Network on Climate Change(CISONECC), and Centre for Integrated and Community Development (CICOD). In addition to this, the consortium will also be working directly with the Malawi Government.

The project will be implemented in Communities surrounding Kasungu National Park, Lengwe National Park in Chikwawa as well as Mwabvi Wildlife Reserve in Nsanje district.

The launch was held in Lilongwe at Ufulu Gardens in Lilongwe City and YONECO FM covered the proceedings of the event live. Further to this, the event was also streamed live on Facebook and others had an opportunity to participate through other online platforms.
