Two weeks after introducing a new project called ‘Connect Malawi Plus: Action for Adolescent Girls and Young Women’ to Lilongwe District Health Management Team (DHMT), YONECO has presented a report on the progress that has been made during the inception phase of the project to Lilongwe District AIDS Coordination Committee (DAC).

In response to the presentation, members of the Lilongwe DACC applauded YONECO for being up-to-date and flexible after incorporating Kawale as one of the project’s additional targeted health facilities. Kawale was not initially among the targeted health service delivery points but was later embraced after engagements with stakeholders.

Connect Malawi Plus: Action for Adolescent Girls and Young Women’ is a three-year project, which is being implemented in Lilongwe with financial support from ViiV Healthcare. The project seeks to provide biomedical, behavioral and structural interventions to targeted group of 2, 250 adolescent girls and young women, 30 health providers and 30 peer mobilisers.
