On 19 September 2022, YONECO conducted a Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health (MNCH) session with a focus on nutrition among expectant women and mothers of children who are below the age of five.
This session that was held at Mangochi District Hospital was aimed at dealing with various health problems that bring about negative health outcomes on MNCH due to undernutrition.
During the session, participants were encouraged to ensure that they are eating balanced meals for the health and wellbeing of their children. Further to this, lactating mothers were also urged to follow advice from health personnel on caring for pregnancy and babies.
The women were encouraged to intensively breastfeed their babies.
The session was attended by 16 women.
