After seven days of intensive training on provision of Basic Education Services (BES) to street connect children using smart approach, the trainees have on Tuesday, 21 June, 2022 been awarded certificates of completion.
The training has equipped child protection workers from YONECO, Social Welfare, Malawi Police, Health and others with skills on how to reach out to children connected to the streets with captivating teaching modalities.
Master trainer from Mobile Schools, Bram Van De Putte has encouraged the participants to use the skills to the benefit of the targeted beneficiaries so that no child in the street is left behind academically.
One of the beneficiaries of the training, Elija Thondoya, a House Father at the Lilongwe Social Rehabilitation Centre has hailed the training saying it has provided him with skills which will assist him in his daily activities.
“This training has sharpened my skills on provision of basic education services to street connect children. I am not geared to support children whom for a long time have been neglected and deprived off their right to education,” he explained.
21 child care providers have benefited from the training that was organized by YONECO in partnership with the Belgium based organization.
